So you may have been wondering what I’ve been up to.
I had to keep it a secret but now the secret is out. I was invited to be a judge for our sister pageant Miss Asia Sacramento, which was held on Saturday April 7th at Woodlake Hotel. It was such an amazing experience. I am so glad I got to be apart of it.
I arrived on Friday to look around Sacramento and even got to do some shopping. That night I met with our director Debra for dinner at Olive Garden. A good dinner with great company.
Saturday morning I woke up early to get ready for pageant day. I had a packed day. First up was judges interview with the girls. This was when we got to get to know the girls better. Being that this was the first pageant I judged I was probably more nervous than the girls. After the interview I was so confused the girls were all amazing, strong and independent women I did’t know how we could pick just two queens.
I got to meet the 2011 Miss Teen Asia Sacramento Christina Yan and 2011 Miss Asia Sacramento Namy Herr. These girls are beautiful both inside and out and made me feel welcome in Sacramento.
I came back at 6pm for the VIP cocktail party where I mingled with sponsors and other queens and even got to take pictures at the media wall. Then it was show time the main event, pageant. The girls competed in ethnic costume, fitness, gown phase, and final question. Six of the girls performed talent each was fun to watch.
Congratulations to the new Miss Asia Sacramento, Judy Lee and Miss Teen Asia Sacramento Michelle Thach and their courts. Even though I was only there for a short time. I got to know a few of the girls and they’re all so sweet! I know we’ll be friends. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of your experience. I hope they’ll come visit Hawaii!
